On this safari, you will visit Semuliki National Park in the western tourism circuit, the park is famous for its hot springs; the divided into the male and female springs located in patches of forests including palms widespread across the plains. Its location in the Rift Valley makes it a mystical beauty of nature, hosting a number of species such as the Albertine rift endemics and it’s a diverse habitat of low-land tropical forest hosting 53mammal species, over 440bird species including 40 Congolese species of birds. Tracks through the park will let you explore its diversity.
Fort Portal region is Uganda’s tourism city and will reward you with exquisite sights of the crater lakes as you hike through the trails to explore the crater field.
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Semliki National Park.
You will be met by your safari guide at the hotel after breakfast and transfer westwards to Semliki. You will break off for lunch at the hotel in Fort Portal town, later you will continue to Bundibugyo in the direction of the park, continue to the lodge for evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay. Day 2: Visit the Hot springs and guided nature walk
Start with breakfast, leave with packed lunch boxes and break the day with a walk to the Sempaya hot springs. The hour-long trail leads to the outer, “male” spring through an area of forest where you may see primates. A 30-minute hike through palm forest leads to the inner, “female” spring, dominated by a boiling geyser. After lunch, partake in a nature walk in Semliki nature reserve whose jungle life is a breathtaking one especially for botanists, bird lovers and primate lovers. Day 3: Game viewing in Tooro-Semliki wildlife reserve
After an early breakfast at the lodge, transfer to the reserve for opportune moment to watch the wildlife that finds habitat here. You will see variety of forest savanna species such as the Elephants, Buffalos, and various Antelope species. After the 3-4 hours of game viewing, return to the lodge for lunch, check out and then transfer to the hotel/ booked accommodation where dinner and overnight will be. Meal Plan: Full Board. Day 4: Transfer to Mabere ga Nyinamwiru caves and hiking
Have breakfast, and then drive to the famous Mabere ga Nyinamwiru caves in Nyakasura-Fort Portal. It is nestled between several trees and splashing water falls, it is a site with a vibrant cultural and natural history. The Batoro (the tribe located in this area) have a strong belief attached to these caves with an interesting myth told through the generations about them. You will have a lunch break and then hike to visit some of the craters. Later leave and head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal Plan: Full Board. Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala or the Airport
Check-out from the accommodation after breakfast and leave for Kampala arriving in the late afternoon. You will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home or be dropped off at your hotel. Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
