Overview
Visit three national parks during this safari where you will get involved in different activities such as chimpanzee trekking, game drive, boat cruise, gorilla trekking and Cultural community visit of the Batwa pygmies.
The safari is rewarding as it combines culture and wildlife and this means it will reward you with the best Ugandan experience. Prominent national parks visited include Kibale, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Make a transfer to Kibale national park which is home of primates and so called the primate capital of the world. It is on record that this park has 13 species of primates including our close cousins, the chimpanzees which we share 98% of our DNA. Other primates here in the forest are L’Hoest’s monkeys, owl-faced monkeys, vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys among others. It’s a home to other big mammals such as elephants which are occasionally spotted and buffalos rarely spotted.
On arrival, you will visit Isunga Cultural Community where you will experience both the Batooro and Bakiga cultures that neighbour Kibale forest. Get entertained from their cultural music and dances like Ekizino for Bakiga, learn their languages mainly greetings among others. Then check in the accommodation site for dinner and overnight.
Drive to Kanyanchu visitors’ center where you will receive information concerned about the forest and it’s in habitats and the guidelines to follow while trekking and all this is done during briefing time. Then with a help of a park ranger, enter the forest and trek these beautiful cousins. On locating them, an hour will be granted as you watch them playing, making sound, grooming their young ones and even feeding. Trek back after 2-4 hour to the offices where you will meet your driver guide and make a transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
The journey rewards you with crater lakes as you use the Ndali-Kasenda road and connect to Rwimi trading center. You will be welcomed with enroute game drive in the park where you will spot different antelopes and among others are the Uganda kob, and oribis, elephants, buffalos, olive baboons, warthogs, giraffes among others. Then, check in the accommodation for your early or late dinner depending on your choice.
Embark on an early game drive to catch up with early raisers where you will be able to spot predators like lions, spotted hyenas, leopards among others like jackals, spot antelopes, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, warthogs among others.
Then afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel where you will be able to view hippos, crocodiles birds like African fish eagle, malachite king fisher, hamerkop and more. Then you will head back to the lodge and prepare for the next day departure to Bwindi national park.
Make a transfer to Bwindi national park passing via Ishasha sector where you will be able to spot the rare tree climbing lions. Then precede to Bwindi national park a home to over half population of mountain gorillas. The park has over 15 habituated gorilla families that are open to visitors in for sectors (Nkuringo, Rushaga, Buhoma and Ruhija).
It’s a good hub for birders as it hosts over 400 bird species including 24 rift valley endemics and of which 13 cannot be spotted elsewhere. On the arrival, drive to the booked accommodation for your dinner
Take your cup of tea or coffee and then drive to the park headquarters for briefing where the dos and don’ts will be told such as do not use flash camera light, don’t litter the park, and don’t feed animals among others. Then penetrate the impenetrable with a help of the park ranger guide to search for these beautiful creatures.
After the trek that can take over 2 hours, head back to the lodge for lunch which will be followed by the visit of the Batwa culture where you will get to know more about Uganda’s cultural experience. More to engage in while on the visit such as cultural music, traditional meal tasting among others.
Transfer back to Kampala after an early breakfast and the safari will end after a drop off at the airport in Entebbe.
