Overview

Visit the two national parks where you will enjoy abundant wildlife that dwell in this park through game dives and chimpanzee trekking adventure. Have a chance to visit Ziwa Rhino sanctuary where you will be able to trek rhinos, Isunga cultural community for an encounter with both the Batooro and Bakiga cultures.

This safari will make you spot the big 5 animals if you are lucky enough, hike to the top of falls and enjoy the beautiful view of the thunderous Murchison falls.

Tour Plan

Day 1 Travel to Kibale National Park from Entebbe/Kampala.

Transfer to Kibale national park will begin immediately after breakfast at the hotel or pick up at the airport in Entebbe. Kibale forest is home to 13 primates and that’s why it’s called the primate capital of the world and among others, there are chimpanzees our cousins, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys among others.

It is also home to big mammals like elephants, buffalos among others. It boasts over 350 bird species and the green breasted pitta stands out. On the arrival, you can take a walk to explore the crater lakes or tea plantation experience

Day 2 Travel to Kibale National Park from Entebbe/Kampala. Chimpanzee trekking and afternoon Isunga cultural community tour.

Take a drive through the forest after breakfast and then turn to the Kanyanchu tourist information centre where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking. This will include cross-checking chimp permits, informing you about the trekking rules and regulation, information about the forest among others. Start the trek with a help of the ranger guide and you will spot other primates like grey-cheeked mangabeys, red colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and many more.

After 2-3 hours in the forest, you will head to the park offices and the driver will be waiting for you. Make a drive back to the lodge for your lunch and after, Visit Isunga Cultural Community where you can explore the two cultures of Batooro and Bakiga. Here you can get a guided nature walk to the cultural site of Cold springs, do a coffee experience or take part in the traditional dances. Buy some souvenirs from the craft shop which will be followed by the drive back to the lodge.

Day 3 Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

Make a transfer to the biggest conservation area in Uganda - Murchison Falls national park immediately after breakfast. Murchison falls national park is divided into two by Albert Nile and the southern part is covered by forested area while the northern part by savannah vegetation and hence good for game drives since you can easily spot animals. On arrival, you will take an evening game drive through the park and head to the lodge for slumber.

Day 4 Game drive and boat cruise.

An amazing day of memories will begin immediately after an early breakfast and thereafter, head for a game drive which exposes you to different animals like lions, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, different antelopes like bushbucks, Jackson’s Hartebeests, Oribis, Uganda Kobs among others, olive baboons, warthogs among others.

Return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter, embark on an afternoon boat cruise where you will cruise on the Nile spotting crocodiles, hippos among other reptiles and hike to top of the falls to enjoy a stunning view of this world’s strongest waterfall and transfer back to the lodge.

Day 5 Drive back to Kampala and Rhino trekking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Immediately after breakfast, start the journey to Kampala with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to trek the impressive rhinos which will make this a complete big five safari in Uganda. Then you will be dropped at Entebbe international airport for your onward flight.
