Born in the Heart of Kampala, Built for the World
Nile Abenteuer Safaris was founded in 2010 with a singular belief: that Africa's greatest stories are not told in glossy brochures, but lived — breathed in the mist of Bwindi's forest canopy, felt in the thunder of Murchison Falls, and whispered through the grasses of Queen Elizabeth National Park at dusk.
With our roots firmly planted in Kampala, Uganda — and permanent representation offices in Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda — we have grown from a passionate local operator into one of East Africa's most trusted boutique safari specialists. The name itself speaks to our international spirit: Abenteuer is the German word for Adventure, reflecting our deep connection with the German-speaking world and our multilingual, globally-minded team.

Our Journey
Fourteen Years of Remarkable Milestones
2010
Founded in Kampala, Uganda. Awarded first Uganda Tourism Board license and began operating gorilla trekking and wildlife safaris.
2013
Opened representative offices in Kenya and Tanzania, expanding East African coverage and multi-country itinerary capabilities.
2016
Established Rwanda branch in Kigali. Joined the Association of Uganda Tour Operators (AUTO) and Uganda Conservation Foundation.
2018
Integrated AMREF Flying Doctors emergency medical coverage for all guests. Launched community partnership with Ramu Children Centre.
2020
Pivoted operations during global pandemic — doubled down on sustainability commitments and launched the Climatica Foundation partnership.
2022
Relaunched with expanded bespoke safari offerings. Achieved membership with ATTA (African Travel and Tourism Association).
2024
