  1. Coffee plantation – Queen Elizabeth National park.

This amazing project sits comfortably between Park’s buffer zone and the community farmlands; it is managed and run solely by the Omwani Women’s Cooperative, an association of local women committed to growing organic coffee beans without the use of pesticides or artificial fertilizers. Marvel at more than 1500 Arabica and Robusta coffee plants and witness the beans being processed by hand at a communal processing plant. End your experience with a sampling of the plantation’s finest product.

Kisoro is located in South Western Uganda, a region famous for its production of Arabica coffee. This is a mountainous area which is rich with acidic volcanic soils; the area is humid and here the indigenous coffee is generally dried on raised beds, greenhouses and tapelines.

Kisoro coffee profile is dominated by bright acidity and fruity flavors with a medium body and incredible sweet cup. While on a coffee tour in Kisoro, our selected farmers will take you through all the stages coffee go through until it reaches the roaster stage.

Other than coffee, Kisoro region is best known for its huge population of Mountain Gorillas and other incredible primates such as golden monkeys, monkeys, baboons not forgetting fauna, flora, stunning landscapes and its backdrop is covered by the misty Virunga Mountains.

  1. Elgon and Sipi region.

Located on the other side of the mighty River Nile are the steep slopes of Mountain Elgon and its famous 40sq.km wide Caldera. The mountain not only has one of the largest surface areas of any ancient extinct volcano in the world but its lower slopes are also littered with gorges, caves, cliffs and magnificent water falls – most notably the romantic Sipi falls.

Enroute to this beautiful region, you are lucky to pass through small and big plantations of Robusta coffee in the central Buganda region, go through Mabira forest where you can choose to have a rewarding nature walk and visit the source of River Nile in Jinja – this is the famed longest river in the world.
